Clear Image was recently down in Puyallup handling School Picture Day for an outstanding learning program, Rocking H Preschool. Situated on a 5 acre farm, children are able to interact within an amazing environment of farm animals and tractor rides! It was here that we met Miss Susan Harris, who has been teaching at Rocking H since 1997!
We had such a fun time with Susan and her kids, we decided to shine the spotlight on her beautiful life...
Occupation Teacher, Summer Job: Professional Clown.
Tell us more about where you are from. Born and raised in Puyallup. Currently live in Tacoma. Lived in Nashville for four years, where I owned a successful clown business.
What I love about my job The children! The age group I work with (3.5 to 5.5 yrs.) can be underestimated. They are sponges that urn for information. They thrive on structure, creative outlets, and hands-on experiences. In return, I am rewarded with their love, trust, and the experience of watching them grow up and mature.
Other interests and hobbies? I enjoy reading the most. I also like gardening, camping, and travel.
Proudest moment There are so many! Related to teaching, I am proud every year, at the end of school, when I see the older children go to kindergarten. It is bitter-sweet. I will miss them, but I am so proud that they are more than ready for their educational career. I am proud to carry on my mom’s legacy. She started preschool in 1994 after teaching kindergarten for 46 years!
When I’m not teaching… I am reading, watching movies, gardening, camping and traveling.
Favorite Destinations I love Europe, specifically. I love to travel internationally, so I can immerse myself into different cultures. I love to visit local areas, as well. Mt. Rainier, our ocean and eastern Washington.
What is your best advice to others? Again, that is a relative question. Advice for raising children? Simple. CONSISTENCY! That’s it!
Hidden Talents I enjoy the theatre. I wrote, directed, and starred in a One Woman Show related to life as a clown.
Fears Fortunately, I do not have a fear of clowns! I am not fond of bridges or the dark.
Guilty pleasures Binge watching TV shows.
What makes Clear Image different? Very professional! The shoots were relaxed and stress free. I appreciated being asked to preview a few photos, to make sure things were how I envisioned. I also appreciated how Daniel listened, then took over. I still had a class to run! The photo processing was fast. The prices were competitive and the product was professional looking and greatly received by the parents.

Let us change the way you think about School Picture Day! We own our own complete production photo lab, as well as a large studio (in Marysville) that can host large groups when needed. We are a small company, not just an individual photographer – this means more staff available to help get the job done – we have to hire less unknowns and prefer to work with those who we work with on a daily basis. Good people with integrity, who truly want to be the best at what we do. We coordinate an easy, organized, and fun picture day! Call 360.659.4933 to learn more about what we can do for your school!
